What is the motive behind these fraudulent messages?
These fraud messages are not from any genuine companies but are from scammers to get your personal information so that they can scam you. I received this exact message. I immediately contacted Wal Mart customer care to report it/

Recieved a text about wal trucking tracking tx357z46. Thank you for letting us know this is scam.

This is what I received. Figured it was a scammed, googled it and sure enough:
"WAL Package Tracking: Hi, your parcel with tracking number PA386Z12 is waiting for you to check the shipment address: reachpoem .com/HHG1ih9"
