Also trading as kbooa.com, nnboutique.com, sunlyer.com (site currently down) and they have now added an address to the sites ... of a private house in Troy, Michigan. Last sold in 2011 – so not a recent purchase –which has been used as the trading base for Chopin Piano Services, and Pete gets positive reviews.
One of the clever things this company is doing is to find/hack/hijack or otherwise get hold of a tracking number for goods that are destined for your home town – possibly low cost items sold from the site that is connected to the PayPal account that they are using: ustreetstyle.com – and assigning that tracking number to your goods.
That is clever because the legitimate tracking number will only give a final destination address as the town – not a partial postcode / zip code or partial address, and no name – and the tracking number will say that the goods have been received and signed for.
In my case, an electric bicycle was ordered – $599 and a realistic discount from the stated $749 (I think, they don't list that bike any more) – on the 9th September 2020. They'd sold out of black ones so I took the pale blue, and noted that one of the comments from a buyer moaned about a delay in receiving it, but that it was worth the weight. All very plausible.
I was advised that it was shipped on the 14th September and given a tracking number and expected it to take a month. The link to check the tracking number didn't work, but I wasn't concerned because I had other things to do.
After a week I asked if that was normal. No reply.
After a couple of weeks, I tried another on-line tracker and discovered that this 28kg bicycle had been delivered on the 15th September and signed for ... or at least the tracking number had. I contacted Royal Mail who couldn't tell me where it had been delivered but could tell me that it wasn't my name, address or postcode on the package ... and that it weighed 811g.
I logged the incident with Action Fraud and have a crime number, and raised a claim with PayPal, which I escalated when the seller failed to respond to any questions. PayPal denied that because the tracker said that it had been delivered and signed for. PayPal has no better access to Royal Mail's tracker than I do – GDPR is there to protect people from companies like PayPal – and have accepted Crewe (a town with a population of 70,000+) as proof of delivery.
PayPal have so far refused to ask the seller for proof of address from the tracking number – which only the seller as the sender or the recipient has the ability to provide – and do not appear to cross-reference cases with other PayPal transactions (there are at least half a dozen reported on Trustpilot).
PayPal insist that I should get hold of an internal document from the Royal Mail –which would be in breach of GDPR – which they will not provide. Disappointingly, Royal Mail also won't provide written proof that the tracking number referred to my name or address – or indeed that the parcel weighed 811g. That is now subject to an official complaint to Royal Mail ... always assuming that PayPal will accept that written evidence as proof positive, and they haven't confirmed that.
One correspondent on Trustpilot has said that Royal Mail told her that they don't carry weights of 28kg, and I have asked for confirmation of that too.
So, don't assume PayPal is on your side – despite all assurances – or will undertake any due diligence checks on business account holders.
My bank has refunded the money to my account and is now pursuing PayPal, who are effectively complicit in this widespread fraud.
I have also spent more time looking up the bike in question, which doesn't retail at c. $749 at all, but closer to £1600, which would have rung alarm bells as $599 was far too cheap, even for ex-factory.
I also took the opportunity to look at the ustreetstyle.com website, which includes staff pics ... of people who don't work for the company: it's well worth learning how Google can search on an uploaded image, and might prevent you from putting your own staff pics up.
This company / operation is beyond suspicious: they are scammers. And if something is too cheap – and don't take the seller's word for its RRP – it probably is.

The least I could do: these criminals need to be exposed wherever possible – if only so that the woefully incapable PayPal treat their customers properly and don't pass funds onto the scammer.
I have also contacted the manufacturer directly to see if they can apply pressure, because their reputation must be under some threat too ... maybe they'll appreciate the gesture and send me a bike as a thank you 🙂
