Why Yahoo Removed the Comment Section? Will Yahoo Enable It?

Why did Yahoo Suspend Comment On Articles? Will Yahoo Enable The Comment Section Again?

You can't leave your comments on Yahoo articles anymore. Yahoo said that it has disabled the comment section below their articles because they don't feel comments are safe anymore. However, many people do not agree with this change. Lots of people are complaining around the internet that such changes on Yahoo block their free speech rights. However, it's their business so they have full rights either they want to keep or delete the comment section. But, this definitely can harm their business. People who are angry with this move, maybe they will stop visiting Yahoo.

Why Yahoo Disabled Comments on Yahoo Articles?

Do you think Yahoo did good or bad by disabling the comment section?

Personally, we believe in free speech and we think everyone has the right to express their opinion on public affairs. If its writers are expressing their opinion about public matters, then why don't give people an opportunity to debate on that matter? But, in the same time, it's their business, so they have full right either they want to open comments or not. If you don't like this step taken by Yahoo, then you free to avoid it.

Do you think Yahoo will enable the comment section again?

After disabling the comment section, we think it will definitely lose some visitors. So, maybe they will consider reopening the comments again if they find out too much drop in their website traffic after disabling the comment section. Anyway, it is definitely taking a business risk by disabling the comment section.

Why is Yahoo risking its own business by disabling the comment section? Do you think it did it right or wrong by removing the comment section?

We also don't know what kind of comments make them take such a big step which can even decrease the number of website visitors on their website. Yahoo has simply said that they disabled the comments for safety. So, why they feel comments are unsafe? What kind of comment can make them feel unsafe to take down the whole comment section? If you have any idea about it, then please feel free to leave your comment below to let us know either it did good or bad by removing the comment section.

The First Amendment does not demand that every voice be heard *on their terms*. Everyone that has a platform for speech *has the right to limit that speech as they see fit*. That is how our Democracy of free speech works.

If we didn't allow this type of moderation then we would have "anarchy of speech". Hate speech against Black/Brown/Olive Americans, et al would abound unabated. Is this the proper way to utilize free speech? Let everyone say or write whatever they want at the expense all else? No. Freedom has a price, and a higher price for it's abuse.

If one does not choose to properly limit speech with terms that are relevant to the platform or need, then speech anarchy will be the result. No one complains when a forum-bot stops you from posting vulgar language or using URL links. Yahoo! and other sites are doing no different; except in Yahoo!'s case: if you can't play nice and respect each other, then the pool is closed - for everyone. Yahoo! is being responsible on it's own platform, as it has the right to.

But, I do miss the comment section, as there are articles I would like to chime in on. But, it's not a tragic lost, certainly not to my free speech - which I can freely take elsewhere.

    Peace.

It may be infringing on free speech rights, but the one and only reason the stopped the comments on stories is simple…….
People were vile, rude, hateful, vulgar, and any additional words you can think of. Instead of posting about a story and reading other posts, the trolls just sat behind their computer screen and posted such disgusting
words because they felt safe behind the computer screens.

Nothing to be done except shut it down.

The truth is the election was stolen by the Democratic Party. They don’t want anyone to hear how this really happened. Just like banning President Trump from Twitter and social media. They don’t want anyone to hear the truth. It was like the government said “NO ONE CHEATED EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A MULTITUDE OF PROOF, SO LET BRAIN DEAD, BIDEN BE THE PRESIDENT “!

Removing the comment sections removed the major value of yahoo. Notice also what they did to yahoo groups and the user led community that reviewed movies. It's all gone. The leftist cabal that took over the USA can not tolerate dissent. Your voice is silenced. All the other major social media have joined them.

If it weren't for gab and a few other fringe sites, there would be no voice of dissent against the lunatic left whatsoever. We need to take back America, restore our freedoms and kick these commies to the curb.
