  1. Received one of these last night from (631) 687-9574 informing me I "came in 2nd in the Connecticut AT&T Contest." I found this slightly odd, since a) I don't live in Connecticut and b) I never entered any such contest. The message included a link that I didn't click and told me I could claim my iPad Pro by showing code 1z88065 at an AT&T Store. I marked the message as spam and blocked the number. I will report it to AT&T.

Got two of them today and I don’t even own an atnt phone! I came n first and then second! Whew-hoo! Damn scammers! Is there a gov office I can forward it to so they can catch them? That would be great!

  3. I received this text today:

AT&T Free Msg: Richard! You came 1st in the Connecticut AT&T REWARDS! Claim the iPhone12 here: r7fxv info/wevfEb8ypQ, or show this code at AT&T store 1z26928

  4. I received two texts with the Connecticut rewards info as well. I knew they were scams but unfortunately there remains enough uninformed individuals that makes it profitable. The elderly are the most vulnerable so please, tell you elderly friends & family to delete these & not respond.

  5. This is the text message I received.
AT&T : Jimmy! You came 1st in the Connecticut AT&T CONTEST! Claim the prize here: r5fmw info/W09ePrrmbS, or show this code at AT&T store 1z10433

  6. I received text notice of third place in Connecticut AT&T contest. Text was from 469-797-6461, a Dallas area code.

My daughter and wife got this same “you came in 1st/2nd in the Connecticut AT&T Sweepstakes”. We know it’s a scam and have a good laugh but honestly I wish these scammers would fall in a vat of boiling oil.

  8. I have re3ceived 3 of theses messages so far today.

  9. I got the same “2nd place in the contest” text supposedly from AT&T, and I received a previous AT&T scam text telling me I had X amount of days to claim the $54.45 they owed me before they were forced to send it to the government. Another before that was even more serious & fraudulent, claiming to be from the FBI and even somehow calling from a phone number registered to the Washington DC FBI office. All are scams, all are illegal & can cause devastating troubles for honest people. Anyone who receives anything similar needs to report it, every single time. Report it to the police, to the company being illegally represented, and/or visit a legitimate website specifically set up to deal with these scammers. My name and contact info are irrelevant and used to theoretically be private. I doubt any of our personal info is private if it ever was.
