  4. I have been told I have packages to be picked up, told my prime account was billing me 399 dollars, ( amazon does business with e mail, not phone calls) my social security check was being stopped, would go to jail for failure to report for jury duty, if I didn’t pay a fine, and finally a call from my “grandson” who was in trouble. This came from what appeared to be a local number, with my area code. I asked for my grandson’s full name, caller immediately hung up. I tried calling this local number it was answered by someone who barely spoke English. The scammers have wats of gettin local area codes and are using them constantly. Consumers must get as smart as the scammers, and. STOp falling for their lies. With all the technology we have, there should be a way to put a stop to this crap. I own a business so I have a land line as well as my cell number. It is hard to know legit from scam call. All I can do is hang up,
