Since this email is coming from the official email address of Google, i.e. firstname.lastname@example.org, so we don’t think it is a phishing email but also it’s better to confirm the legitimacy of the email by contacting the Google. So, we recommend that you hold off on giving out any of your personal information if asked by these kinds of emails. However, these Google Subpoena emails are even not asking anything, neither any personal information nor to click any link or to reply to them. So, this adds more trust to these emails.
It looks like these emails are from the lawyer representing the plaintiff. It looks like it’s a class-action lawsuit against online casino.
As we understand it, Sean Wilson has subpoenaed Google in order to find other people (that played the same game(s)) to join his class-action lawsuit against “PLAYITKA LTD, an Israeli Limited Company, and CAESAR’S INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company”.
Anyway, so far we understand, we don’t think you need to do anything or there is any action required on your part. It looks like Google only wants to make you aware that, in cooperation with the lawsuit, they will be providing information from your personal account and history that is relevant to the actions above, solely for the investigation of claims.
