When we tried to locate the given address in the Google Maps, we found the provided address is an address of a residential home but not an address of any company or shop or commercial area or store named DressStars. So it is clear that the company is trying to hide their information and if any company is not providing the verified company address then we shall not trust such companies.

Secondly, if you check their “Terms of Service” page, you can find that they have mentioned that their governing law shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the UK. Now how can a Canada based company’s governing law be governed by the laws of the UK? So, how can we believe or verify their given address?

Likewise, the contact email address of DressStars i.e. "Dressstars@tomailme.com" is very much similar to the email address of multiple suspicious sites since those sites are also using “@tomailme.com” email addresses.

Payment Gateway:

If you click the payment gateway icons like Mastercard, Maestro, VISA, AMEX, PayPal, JCB, etc. placed at the bottom of the DressStars website are not clickable. Legit companies mostly provide clickable payment gateway icons and scam companies mostly use such icons only for the display in order to look genuine and trick the people.

Copied Images/contents:

DressStars is using the copied images from the other site which the legit sites never do. Most of the images of the products are cropped as the faces of the models used in those images are hidden in order to escape from the copyright issues as it will be difficult for the copyright holder to find such images easily. Secondly, the quality of the images is also blurred and low as in other scam sites due to copied ones. Similarly, the contents of the website are also not the original ones but copied from the other similar type of sites.

Discount and Sales offers:

Just think is it trustworthy that some genuine site really can afford to provide huge discount and sale deals i.e. above 25% on the price of lots of products they sell? Definitely not because how can they make a profit with this type of business strategy? We have found that such a strategy is used by most of the scam companies to attract and trick people on their website and DressStars is also following the same strategy. So it seems like they are also be trying to scam the people.

Returns and Exchange:

DressStars has a Return Policy which is found to be very unrealistic and bogus to be eligible for the return and refund which says that the product must be unused and in the original packaging to be eligible for the return and exchange. Now without opening the packaging or using it, how can a buyer know about the quality of the product or the function of the product? They even make customers pay for the refund i.e. product return shipping cost which is mostly non-refundable. And the customer support, as well as delivery time, of sites similar to DressStars, is also very poor as per the complaints received from the buyers of similar kinds of sites. It is almost impossible to get back a full refund amount from these kinds of sites due to confusing provisions.

There may be an argument that after all they are offering refunds but you must be clear that they are only trying to escape from the consumer’s legal issues but actually this kind of refund policy is adopted by only the scam companies as getting a refund from them is almost impossible due to their this and that provisions.
